Laboratory comment:
The d14C results reflect the rapidity of sedimentation in this ?area. Terrestrial inputs are apparent from the significant levels ?of clays found in some of the samples, and this may explain the ?apparent depth inversion of d14C values for SRR-2044 and -2045. ?However the DC13 values point to the fact that the organic ?components in the sediment are primarily of marine origin. for SRR-2044 d14C = 14.1 +_ 7.1%. SRR-2045 d14C = 87.4 +_ 12.8%. SRR-2046 d14C = 18.9 +_ 6.9%. 1981 ooze dig.in 2M HCl (80C for 24h)washed acid free
